The Death Of My Comic Fandom

The ending came on Feb 14th , with Ben Affleck ending his Run on being batman , My slide was a on going thing , comics as a readable medium was wearing very thin on me , Marvel doesn’t hire Top artists anymore , the writing is very crappy so my buying comics from Marvel went from 17 titles a month to 1 book a month to now ( nothing ) . My DC experience is just as bad , so to continue my “fix ” with superheroes , I drove into the world of comic based movies and found a love/hate relationship as friends and coworkers alike . I was a fan of both studios but because of the toxic fandom , I picked a side (DC ) , I continued to see both sides ( MCU ) as well and watched how racist and toxic fans react to certain casting roles and how my frustration grew , When I seen Ben Affleck in BVS I was feeling saved that at least my fandom could be saved and I could see films with my favorite hero done . There was a Black Panther movie , one checkmark done I felt that I’ve lived long enough to see Black Panther made , now I have this and seeing Superman and Batman on the same screen was my dream come true . So came on the Trolls , tossing dirt on BVS and Affleck and Cavil and the pressure was so much , The studio laid a Turd on Ben Affleck , to the point he walked away , this man had the best Batman script to date and they made him so frustrated , and now he’s gone , Cavil is surely to follow , me as a fan could not take another ( re boot )when deep down the direction Ben Affleck/ Zack Snyder was heading was great and now it’s gone and I don’t feel like they deserve my money anymore , me and my podcast will continue to Review films but Avengers EndGame will mark the end of my CB based movies , unless I see something innovative , I will stay away from the medium
